The vineyards of Utiel-Requena: over 2500 years of experience in winemaking
The Utiel-Requena vineyard is the wine-growing region where Combina con Vino will bring you. It is located one hour from the city of Valencia, in the north western part of the province. The Utiel-Requena area has a huge experience in the wine production for centuries. This is where the archaelogical site of the Solana de las Pillilas of Requena, a place thought for the elaboration of wine, dating from the end of the 7th century-5th century BC, was discovered.
Today, the vineyard is composed of 40 000 hectares (4 000 000 acres). The mildness of its climate and the Mediterranean and continental influences allow the development of original wines. The wines are mainly produced with the Bobal variety, an indigenous red grape characteristic of the region.
Also, the municipality of Requena is the only exception within the Valencian region where the production of sparkling wines is authorized to use the name of the appellation Cava.

Elise, in charge of Combina con Vino, accompanies hundreds of visitors every year who are curious to discover the wines of the Utiel-Requena vineyards (located one hour from Valencia).
The agency specializes in organizing half-day and full-day tours of local wineries. The wine tours can be combined with other leisure activities.
Our tours are for groups of 8 people maximum. We take care of everything and for your convenience, each offer includes round trip transportation from Valencia in a mini-van.
